January 2017 Some new works

Ive been working on some new paintings and am relatively pleased with the way things are moving. Pictured is (working title) 'The Facility'- (view 1), 30cm (h)x 42cm (w), oil and enamel on mineral grey matt finish 'Perspex', one of five planned paintings detailing 3d views of one of my digital sculptural/landscape works. The second is a close up of the first layers of paint from a piece titled 'Heat Map 1', 50cm x 50cm, Oil and Enamel on Panel. Hopefully I will be able to show these works in 2017/18 as a  body so people can get a perspective of the full project , but until then 'bits and bobs' will have to suffice.Cheers.

Finished work November 2016

Finally finished my large drawing (approx120cm x 100cm) and im pretty pleased too, not a great day in the studio for taking photos due to the bad light but I couldn't resist just taking a few images to share. Also managed to take a shot of 'homeworld 3' which I don't think ive put up before.

Autumn 2016 Open Studios

Well Autumn is here again and with it comes the 'Open Studios' at Bankley, it opens on Friday 7th October at the same time as Bankleys 'Open Call' exhibition private view from 6-9pm with all welcome!!
I will be in my studio for the duration so if you fancy popping in for a chat as well as seeing what we all do at Bankley then why not come along and have a look.

I have been working on some new pieces (drawings and paintings) which will be on display (as well as some that I will be working on as they are unfinished!!) but in the mean time I have a quick detail of the large drawing I am 2/3 of the way through...

 

 

I was also recently shortlisted for 'The Elbow Room Prize' ( elbow-room.org/ ) and the work that was chosen 'Point' will also be on display in my studio for people to see. Cheers all and hope to see you at some point over the weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

Exhibition News and New Work again!!

I have a painting (Hypothetical Proto-planet 2) in this years 'PS Mirabel Open Call' show titled 'Spectrum'. The show opens this Friday with details on gallery opening times (and further info) available from the website http://www.psmirabel.co.uk/

I have also completed a new series of small pieces which forms part of my current project exploring (amongst many other subjects) mapping, topography, macro and micro photography etc... which should appear below. All are 21cm x 21cm and are ink on paper. Please message me if you would like any further info.

 

Process Exhibition and New Work

I am currently showing in the 'Process' Exhibition by Bankley Studios members, the show has its last day next Saturday (11th June 12-4) so try and get along if you can as its an excellent showcase for the artists currently working out of Bankley.
My new project continues to build and I have finished two new works with which  I am really pleased. Map 1 and Map 2, both ink on paper 21cm x 21cm, a number of smaller pieces to go alongside the much larger works.
