Exhibition 2014 Portico Library and Gallery

Although the details have yet to be finalised, my application for an exhibition at the 'Portico' has been accepted and will probably take place between Feb/March of 2014. I have a brand new body of work to show mainly focused around drawings (with some new paintings and some conclusions to recent series of works) and I am really looking forward to how this will look. The 'Portico is an amazing, unique and historic venue, a real step back in time and I hope it will compliment the work well (well that was my plan anyway!!). I will post more details and information as I get them. To view the library and galleries website (for directions, opening times etc..) please see:

Cheshire Open Art Studios Open Evening

Last nights opening at the 'Marburae Gallery' in Macclesfield signalled the start of the 2013 open studios events and a good night seemed to be had by all. I was rather surprised to be awarded the 'Gallery Choice Award' for my painting 'Red cabin' although over the moon about it all the same. The show had some really strong work in it and is well worth a visit, the 'Marburae' is also a great venue and much needed in Cheshire!! (Although watch the pianos if youre carrying several glasses of champagne, good balance is essential ). The show is on for another month and to find out further info/travel and location details check out the website:

as well as their facebook page:

Flights of Fancy Exhibition - Knutsford Academy Gallery

I will be exhibiting 3 paintings at Knutsford Academy Gallery from 30th October - 11th November (viewable to the public via appointment). The exhibition is a group show and has been curated by David Gilbert (Tatton International Biennial 2012) and students from the school. It is loosely based around the biennials theme of 'Flights of Fancy'. Anyone who would like to go to the private view on the 30th send me an Email and i'll forward an invite.
The three paintings are a triptych which I have shown once before, but never together, so I am very much looking forward to seeing them up!! Add to that the fact that 'Knutsford Academy' is my old school (which I havnt set foot in for the best part of 20 years) and that it is also around 10 years( to my knowledge anyway) since I publically exhibited any work in the town and near surrounding area, it makes for an excitng venture. For further info on the school and directions please see there official website at:

for more info on the 'Tatton Biennial' see:
